چکیده

The Long-Wavelength Spectrometer (LWS) onboard the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) covers the 43-197m region with ten doped-Germanium photocon-ductors that are read out with integrating JF-4 ampli-ers. The behaviour of these detector/readout units during some 500 days of operations in space is described. There are no systematic variations of the sensitivity and of the dark current in observations of pho-tometric standard sources in the sky or in measurements with internal illuminators. The eeects of ionis-ing radiation do not vary on long timescales, either. It is shown that the impact of the slow response times of the detectors on the accuracy of line scans is small.

Performance Evaluation of Local Detectors in the Presence of Noise for Multi-Sensor Remote Sensing Image Matching

Automatic, efficient, accurate, and stable image matching is one of the most critical issues in remote sensing, photogrammetry, and machine vision. In recent decades, various algorithms have been proposed based on the feature-based framework, which concentrates on detecting and describing local features. Understanding the characteristics of different matching algorithms in various applications ...

Performance Evaluation of the High-altitude Launch Technique to Orbit Using Atmospheric Properties

The purpose of this paper is to perform the feasibility and performance evaluation of the High-altitude launch technique using high altitude atmospheric Properties to near earth orbits. The current propulsion transportation system from Earth to space has been deemed by many to be expensive, unreliable, and an unnecessarily dangerous means of travel to space. It is suggested in this paper to ana...

Determination of the best-fitting reference orbit for a LEO satellite using the Lagrange coefficients

Linearization of the nonlinear equations and iterative solution is the most well-known scheme in many engineering problems. For geodetic applications of the LEO satellites, e.g. the Earth’s gravity field recovery, one needs to provide an initial guess of the satellite location or the so-called reference orbit. Numerical integration can be utilized for generating the reference orbit if a satelli...

The On-Orbit Performance of the STIS Detectors

The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS), successfully installed into the Hubble Space Telescope in 1997 February, achieves its advances over the rst-generation HST spectrographs primarily through the use of modern largeformat, two-dimensional array detectors. The performance of the STIS detectors, two Multi-Anode Microchannel Arrays (MAMAs) and one CCD, has been evaluated on-orbit as pa...

Study report on the in orbit calibration of the EUSO telescope

The purpose of carrying out in-orbit calibration of the EUSO instrument requires a careful design of the optical setup to measure the performance of lenses and detectors during the EUSO lifetime. Several requirements drive the design, such as weight, power consumption and payload structure, as well as the need of decoupling the optical performance of the lenses from the responsivity of the foca...
